Jeff: Oh no. Did someone from AllTalk contact you?
いやだな。オールトークの誰かが君に接触したの？

Noriko: Yes, but..
ええ、そうだけれど……。

Jeff: And did they say that they were interested in building a prosperous business relationship with us?
それで先方は我々ともうかりそうな事業提携を築くことに関心があるといったのかい？

Noriko: As a matter of fact, they did.
たしかに言ったわ。

Jeff: And maybe they proposed some "software joint venture" that
would "lead to greater sales for both us and them"?

Noriko: Yes. How did you know?
そうよ。どうしてわかったの？

Jeff: Stay away from them. They sometimes call and make the same pitch. The first time, before you were transferred here, I trusted them and made the mistake of sharing some company secrets. They promptly used the information, made a killing, and then acted as if it were all their idea. We have yet to receive one penny from them! And not only that, I think it shook the boss's confidence in my ability to make a proper business judgment. But never again! I am the wiser now. Anyhow, as far as we're concerned, AllTalk is equivalent to a pack of thieves!
彼らと関わるな。彼らは時どき同じ売込みで電話をかけてくる。初めは、君がここに移動される前、僕は彼らを信用しそしていくつかの会社の秘密を共有するという間違えをおかした。彼らは即座に情報を使って大もうけして、まるでそれが彼らのアイディアであるかのように装った。我々は彼らから一銭もまだ受け取っていない！　それだけでなく、それが適切な事業判断をする僕の能力に対する社長の信頼を揺るがしたと思う。でも二度はないぞ！　今はより賢明になったよ。とにかく、わが社にとっては、オールトークは盗人団と同じさ!
