Jeff: Because they know I'm the one who called the police on them. In other
words, it's become clear that I'm not exactly on their side. In fact, in their eyes, I may even have become the "evil enemy"!
なぜなら、僕が彼らのことで警察を呼んだことを知っているからだ。言い換えれば、僕がまさに彼らの味方ではないことが明らかになったんだ。実際、彼らの考えでは、僕はさらに「悪い敵」になってしまったのかもしれない。

Jeff: Maybe, but I did hear them practicing a new song yesterday afternoon. It sounded like they were singing, "the neighbor is history!"
そうかもね。だけど僕は、彼らが昨日の午後新しい歌を練習しているのが聞こえたんだ。その歌は彼らが『お隣さんはいなくなったぞ！』を歌っているように聞こえた。
