Mr.Clark: Well, you may be shocked to learn that ... we're going to have to cancel our annual company mountain retreat next month.

Jeff: Cancel the retreat?!

Mr.Clark: Yes. I was looking at our budget for the next quarter, and we
just can't afford to go anymore.

Jeff: I see. Well, I'm sure that THAT's going to go over well with everybody. People have been looking forward to this for months. So, when are you going to tell them?
わかりました。きっとみんながそれを聞いたら喜ぶんじゃないの（逆説的）。何ヶ月もこれを楽しみにしてきたんですから。それで、いつみんなに告げるつもりでしょうか？

Mr.Clark: I'm not.

Jeff: You're not?

Mr.Clark: No. YOU are. Just tell them that our current situation has forced
me to make the decision, and that my hands are tied.
そうだ。キミがするんだ。わが社の現状がわたしにそう決定させて、それでわたしがどうしようもないということだけ彼らにいってくれ。

Jeff: Right. Well, could I mention to them some other, less expensive option? Is there any possibility there?
承りました。では、彼らになにかほかの経費の安い選択肢をだせますか？　そっちのほうの可能性は？　

Mr.Clark: Hmmm. Maybe there is. Perhaps you could get everyone to settle on the idea of ... a company bowling tournament some Saturday afternoon?
うーん。あるかもな。ひょっとするとキミからみんなに……ある土曜の午後に社内ボーリングの勝ち抜き戦という案でおせるか？

Jeff: ... Bowling. Hmmm ...
